Drop off!!!
The plan was to do a 4 night hike through Kui Buri National Park, enjoying the beautiful waterfalls and valleys. We started off the hike in the wrong valley and had to camp in a slope not far from the Burmese border. Water was running low and we had a good days hike before reaching the first camp site.

New day and off to our next way point. Unfortunately we had to split up due to some difficult climbs down the waterfalls and this is the point we lost Martin :S
Orchid country...
We tried tracking down his footprints to see where he had passed. After couple of hours walk we found his gas can on a rock and it was 4pm and we were at least another 2 to 3 hours walk to get into a safe zone with less tiger and elephant activity before night fall. We decided to sprint the remaining 5km following his foot steps and luckily, just before sunset we made it out through the thorn thickets and dried river beds to the Kui Buri Dam. On that run we passed two elephant herds and several monkey families. Safe at last and devastated!!! A 4 night trek turned into a 2 night unfortunately but we are happy everyone got out safe and sound!
